Homemade Guava Jam Recipe.

Thinking about the ingredients, you will use lemon to remove the acidity from the fruit, guava, water and sugar. In general, for one and a half kilos of guava, use half a kilo of sugar and ¼ of lemon juice. 

Firstly, peel all the guavas and place them in a blender with a little water, just enough to blend. Then, pass it through a sieve to remove all the remaining pieces and place the liquid in a pan. If you make a large quantity, beat it little by little and add everything to the pan until finished.

Place the pan on the fire and let it boil, so that the water dries up, stirring occasionally. Do this for, on average, 40 minutes. Then add the lemon juice and sugar. Stir for 30 minutes on average. You will notice that the candy will thicken, that is, it will reduce its volume a little, concentrate and take on a thicker, candy-like appearance. Then, turn off the heat and wait for it to cool. 

Various Guava Sweet Point Options.

The great advantage of this recipe is that you can choose the doneness you want depending on the cooking process. Always being careful not to let it burn. To do this, always keep the pan over medium heat. 

If you want a softer, spoon-like consistency, turn off the heat as soon as it starts to thicken. But, if you want a guava-like sweet, to cut into pieces, let it reduce well, so that it becomes very thick. In this case, place it in a glass container and let it cool, cutting only when it is firm.

An advantage is that, if you leave the jar completely closed, when opened, this recipe lasts up to three months in the refrigerator. But, if you keep opening, this period is reduced. It is not recommended that the candy stay in cabinets or at room temperature. 

Homemade Guava Jam – Options for New Dishes. 

If you love guava, a special tip is to chop the pieces or take portions and put them in a blender with cream, until smooth. Then, place the mixture in a glass container and add pieces of guava in the middle and on top, to decorate. Refrigerate and wait for it to firm up before serving. 

Another tip is to prepare a pinch. A dough prepared with 2 and a half cups of wheat flour, 1 cup of butter, 2 eggs, ¾ cup of refined sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence. Mix the flour and butter until it turns into crumbs. Add the other ingredients and mix well. Then, separate portions and roll out the dough into circles, add a piece or portion of guava paste and close. Bake until golden. 

Another special tip is to prepare a cake. Just mix 3 eggs, 4 tablespoons of cold, melted butter with 1 cup of sugar. Continue stirring and add 240ml of milk and flour until smooth, like cake batter. Finish with 1 tablespoon of yeast. Place the dough in a greased pan and add pieces or portions of guava paste and bake. 

Romeo and Juliet Pie Recipe – Guava Jam.

Romeo and Juliet pie is one of the incredible and easy options to make. All you need to do is separate 150g of cornstarch biscuits, 100g of melted butter, 1 envelope of unflavored gelatin, 9 tablespoons of water, 400g of ricotta, a small box of condensed milk, a small box of cream and 500g of Guava paste. 

Start by crushing the biscuit and mixing it with the butter. Grease a round pan with oil or butter and line the entire bottom with this flour. Place in the freezer for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, dissolve the gelatin in 5 tablespoons of water and place in the microwave for 20 seconds. Place this mixture in a blender and blend with the condensed milk, cream and ricotta. 

Now, place this mixture on top of the cookie, in the mold. Leave it in the fridge until it sets well, which will take around 2 hours. Place the chopped guava paste (if it is very firm) in a bowl and place in the microwave with 4 tablespoons of water. It should be in syrup format. Pour over the pie and place back in the fridge until set. 

In roulade Goiabada.

Finally, you can use the homemade guava jam recipe to make a rocambole, also used as a “roll cake”. To do this, you will use the candy in a tail shape. So, if yours is very firm, cut it into pieces and add a few spoons of water to melt it in the microwave. Always little by little and stirring. 

For the dough, you will need 1 cup of wheat flour, 1 cup of sugar, 4 tablespoons of water, 1 tablespoon of baking powder and 4 eggs. First, separate the yolks from the whites. Whip the egg whites. Then add the egg yolks, sugar, water, flour and yeast. Exactly in this order and mixing well after each one. 

Line a large pan with baking paper, place the dough completely stretched and bake for 25 minutes at 180º. Now, just take the dough out of the oven and spread the guava paste over the entire surface. Then, gently roll it up. It's important to do this as soon as it comes out of the oven, or the dough will firm up and end up breaking. Rolled up, decorate with guava paste and it's ready.
